He described him as a brave and unique editor/journalist and acknowledged Nandy’s role as a source of strength during his early days in Mumbai. Anupam wrote: “Deeply deeply saddened and shocked to know about the demise of one of my dearest and closest friends #PritishNandy! Amazing poet, writer, filmmaker and a brave and unique editor/journalist! He was my support system and a great source of strength in my initial days in Mumbai.”

Kher further reflected on their shared experiences, lamenting their recent lack of contact, and concluded with a heartfelt tribute: “We shared lots of things in common. He was also one of the most fearless people I had come across. Always larger than life. I learnt so many things from him… I will miss you and our times together my friend. Rest well.”

In a surprising turn, actress Neena Gupta made a startling allegation against Pritish Nandy. She claimed that he had stolen her daughter Masaba Gupta’s birth certificate and published it without permission. Gupta’s statement was stark, as she declared, “So no RIP, you understand, and I have proof of it.”

Previously, Neena had urged people on Twitter not to celebrate Nandy’s birthday, asserting that he had caused her significant distress. In past interviews, she had also mentioned that a journalist had stolen her child’s birth certificate to uncover the identity of her father.
